The beautiful woman and the brave man disembark the train at the tiny station in the desert. He is the test pilot of the hypersonic nuclear-powered plane called Cyclone, and she is the physicist studying the strange phenomenon encountered by the first flier of the Cyclone jet, named Kazantsev.

The film tells the story of those who took part in the Battle of Stalingrad in 1942, which became a turning point in the Great Patriotic War. For five months, the city resisted the Nazi offensive. Surrendering Stalingrad to the enemy would have meant losing the war, but holding on to the city seemed almost impossible.

At first, everyone treated Ivan Kondakov, a young inventor, with irony. But a mine is a mine. And so his absent-mindedness, tardiness, and other frivolous behavior were often ridiculed in the miners' newspaper. His school friend Lelia, who had graduated from medical school, no longer understood the fanatic. Only Nina, a newcomer to the mine, supported and defended Kondakov...

Driver Panachuk, who took «left» passengers, is in a hurry to Gorsk. Panachuk tells the policeman who stopped him that he saw a murdered doctor in a crashed «Moskvich» car on the way.

A comedy about the life of a young married couple—Soviet students. Film has not survived.

The end of August 1941. At night, a truck rushes along the last road not yet occupied by the enemy to Leningrad. In the back of two — civil aviation pilot Lunin and commissar of the air division Uvarov. Lunin, a man no longer young, experienced, but had not yet been in battle, was sent to the legendary squadron of fighter pilots under the command of Captain Rassokhin. This squadron fought from the first day of the war and has already lost most of its composition.
