Big Bertha is the popular, full-figured owner of the community's most successful whorehouse and moonshine racketeering enterprise. Some guys decide to rob Big Bertha’s stash of money, but the local cops just happen to coincidentally be "visiting" the joint. With her money missing, Big Bertha announces the closure of her whorehouse, but nobody in town will let that happen!

When the Circus Came to Town chronicles the life of Mary Flynn (Montgomery), a woman nearing middle age living in a small town. When the circus comes through town, she realizes nothing will ever change unless she does something different, so she leaves her boring sheltered life to run away and join the circus. While adapting to her new life, she finds herself challenged, and in the end, happy with her new life.

A gang of four thieves, having stolen over a million dollars worth of gems, are driving through the remote hill roads of the Carolinas when their jeep runs out of gas. A local moonshiner and his wife offer the strangers a place to stay until they can get help, but the thieves soon take advantage of their hosts. Both the moonshiner's young wife and his supposed hidden fortune prove to be irresistable temptations for the fugitives, but will their greed and jealousy prove to be their downfall?
