With a career spanning over two decades, he has transitioned from a key creative voice at Yash Raj Films to an independent powerhouse, known for penning some of Bollywood's most iconic dialogues and chart-topping songs. Mayur’s breakthrough as a screenwriter came with the global blockbuster Om Shanti Om (2007), directed by Farah Khan. His dialogues for the film, including the legendary "Filmfare Award speech," have become an indelible part of Indian pop culture. He continued his collaboration with Farah Khan on Happy New Year (2014), a screenplay that earned the prestigious distinction of being selected for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences (AMPAS) permanent Core Collection. His writing credits also include the pioneering 3D dance franchise ABCD: Any Body Can Dance (2013) and ABCD 2 (2015), as well as high-octane films like Blue (2009), Prince (2010), and F.A.L.T.U (2011). In a landmark cross-cultural collaboration, Mayur teamed up with global pop icon Ed Sheeran for the Indian rendition of the track "Sapphire," further cementing his status as a bridge between Indian and international music markets. Recognised as a leading expert in localisation, Mayur has been the primary architect for adapting and "Indianizing" major Hollywood blockbusters. He is credited with writing the Hindi dialogues for massive franchises, including: * Marvel Cinematic Universe: Avengers: Endgame, Avengers: Infinity War, and Thor: Ragnarok. * Disney/Pixar: The Lion King (2019) and The Jungle Book (2016), Mufasa: The Lion King As a songwriter, Mayur has penned over 300 songs, delivering massive hits such as: * "Selfie Le Le Re" (Bajrangi Bhaijaan) * "Teri Oar" (Singh is Kinng) * "Lat Lag Gayee" (Race 2) * "Bheegi Bheegi" (Gangster) A staunch advocate for creators' rights, Mayur serves on the Board of Directors at the Indian Performing Right Society (IPRS), where he plays a pivotal role in shaping the landscape for lyricists and composers in India. He also serves as the vice chairperson at Asia Pacific Music creators alliance. Dedicated to nurturing the next generation of talent, he is a prominent educator in the film industry.
