But their day of leisure is disrupted when gunfire breaks out across the street. A gangland family has stolen the lion from Gaza’s only zoo, and Hamas has decided it’s time to settle old scores. Stuck in the salon, with the prospect of death drawing ever nearer, the women start to unravel. How will the day end? Will they lose their lives for the sake of “liberating the lion”?

In 2007, Yahya works at his friend Osama’s falafel shop in Gaza, which doubles as a drug dealing front. His entanglement leads him to witness a terrible crime. A couple years later, Gaza’s Ministry of Culture randomly chooses Yahya to star in a TV series that highlights martyrs and heroes of the resistance. As conflict simmers in the distance, Yahya unexpectedly receives real weapons, heightening the stakes as the show provides him with an opportunity to confront the perpetrator of the offense that changed his life.

Through prayer, we recognize the power and goodness of God, our poverty and dependence on him, an act of virtue that involves the deepest respect for God, humility and dedication. But when prayer becomes just a daily habit practiced only to maintain a certain social status or power, it becomes a disaster. And this is practiced by some religious movements that claim, lie and steal in the name of God

It’s his birthday. While waiting for her to arrive, he imagines the moment when he first sees her. What will her gift be? As he shifts between a dream and reality he receives a visit by a strange old man.

Despite limitations, a group of young artists in Gaza form a rap band. Through their words and music, they express longing for change and a better life.
