1953, colonized Algeria. Fanon, a young black psychiatrist is appointed head doctor at the Blida-Joinville Hospital. He was putting his theories of ‘Institutional Psychotherapy’ into practice in opposition to the racist theories of the Algies School of Psychiatry, while a war broke out in his own wards.

Nacer, a 45 year old journalist, is observing the appearance of strange yellow sandstorms looming over Algiers and its surroundings. While covering the phenomenon for his newspaper, he starts witnessing more and more supernatural events, until his late wife Fajar returns to life. Faced with increasingly threatening storms, Samir has to face a dark past that haunts him.

Adar, an old actor who loves both theater and cinema. Its character portrays a play about a shoemaker whose dream is to create a political party, the Nail Party, in order to represent the common people in the presidential election in Algeria. It is a story of absence, memories of absence.

A young Arab boy, a teenager "Yaouled", who lives on the streets and scrapes by doing odd jobs: shoe shining, street vending, etc. The film tells the story of a group of yaouleds from the Bab-el-Oued neighborhood, caught in the crossfire between the French settlers on one side and the Algerians on the other during the events of July 1962 in Algeria.

Selim Mechoubine, a young man of 28, is the eldest of a large family. In the cramped accommodation he shares with his parents, brothers and sisters... he occupies the kitchen, the refuge of his dreams and his many fantasies. Selim, the court clerk where divorcing couples parade..., wants to get married. His mother finds him “the rare pearl”. But now, the bride's family demands that the couple have their own home... Selim's misadventure begins; he finds himself confronted with the problems of the housing crisis which forces him to begin a long quest, procedures, requests to find the sine qua non condition for his marriage.

Portrait of Si Mohand U M'hand, an Algerian Amazigh poet from the end of the last century, whose tragic destiny was marked by wandering and revolt. Refusing all compromise, he lived in insubordination to the new order imposed by the French colonial presence in Algeria.
