While Carlos, a banking executive, takes his two kids to school in his car, he gets a phone call telling him that there is a bomb under the seats and he must to gather a large amount of money; otherwise, his car will blow up.

After 15 years, Tomas, a not very succesfull writer, comes back to the village in Galicia where his family comes from, Arga, apparently to get an award. But he doesn't know the real reason why he is there, to end with an old curse that is been haunting the village for the last hundred years.

In the 1980's, Pilar, an ordinary woman, married, about forty years, discovers that one of their three children are addicted to heroin. After an initial period of uncertainty, Pilar contact with other parents in similar situations who come to a precarious Civic Center helps the addict, but soon realizes that many things have to change in and out of home so your child can be saved. Thus was born the desire to do more than complain and starts along with other parents, but especially mothers, an arduous journey of withdrawal of drug trafficking in Galicia.

Victor and Sol are two of 18 MEALS' most fascinating characters as they each hide something - his sexuality, her depression - from those around them. Best of all is Pedro Alsono as Vladimir, a local celebrity actor who makes a meal for a mystery woman who never arrives.
