Eleni and Konstantinos are two totally different people who are forced to live under the same roof, because they are in the middle of the proceedings of a trial, regarding the ownership of the house. A tough sailor, Fotis, returns to Greece to marry his beloved and to settle certain inheritance issues with his twin brother Fifis, who is an effeminate artist. Their striking resemblance will upset the lives of both of them equally.

The comedy was written and played at the end of the 5th century BC, at the end of the Peloponnesian War, a time of decline of the Athenian Republic. Aristophanes, on the occasion of the political situation in his country, tries to help his fellow citizens by presenting this comedy. Dionysus and his slave Xanthias, with the instructions of Hercules, go down to Hades looking for a poet, who will bring his city out of the impasse in which it has reached. After the poetic struggle between Euripides and Aeschylus, Dionysus chooses the latter to save Athens and they leave Hades together.

A mad man, Spyros, wants to marry Marianna, his lively sister. He wants to give her a dowry apartment, but his money is not enough for that. So he has to ask for a loan from his boss. The boss refuses to serve him but as soon as he knows Marianna, he changes his mind. Spyros tries to think of Marianna, who is smirked for his boss's mistress, but he only manages to lose his job. He wants to marry her with the poor and honest electrician Manolis, who is in love with her.
