Mary is an impetuous romantic who marries British aristocrat Lord Philip Rexford on a whim. Their marriage is successful, though, and they grow closer over the years. Then, a trip to the Italian Riviera unexpectedly reunites Mary with her former beau, Tommie. After some vicious gossip makes Rexford distrust her, he begins work on a divorce. Mary must now choose between the man she has married and the man she once loved.

Don McFadden, an East Side gunman and member of the Gopher gang, of which Schwartz is the leader, is in love with Lola, a girl from his neighborhood. The Gopher gang throws a dance, which is broken up by a group of rival gangsters. In the fight, Lola is shot in the shoulder and taken to the hospital, where she is kindly treated by the nurse and Dr. Deering.

Molly Ashley, a child of the slums, is charged with being an accomplice to a shoplifter. Although innocent, she is convicted of shoplifting and sentenced to two years' imprisonment. Jim Tracy, the leader of a band of gangsters, rescues Molly. The following morning Detective Stone is assigned the task of locating and running down Jim Tracy's gang. In order to secure evidence against the gang, he disguises himself as one of the gangsters, runs into their place and pretends that the "cops" are after him. Tracy and the gang take him in. Molly falls in love with Stone and discovers his true identity. One of the crooks gets sore at Jim Tracy and betrays them to the police. Jim accuses Molly of betraying them. Stone resents his accusation.

Mrs. Burgess explains menstruation to her teen-aged daughter by showing her diagrams in a medical book. Her daughter-in-law Mary then tells Mrs. Burgess that she wishes that she, too, knew more about her body. She also reveals that she may be expecting a baby and is apprehensive about her safety and the changes that a new baby will bring to her life.

In the province of Bullvania, the President loses important papers and war is almost declared. Detective Shemp Howard and his partner come to the rescue.

When Pat gets married, he receives a raise from his boss. Herman, seeing how simple it is, tells his boss that he's recently married. All goes well until both bosses drop in on both young men to "meet the bride." Pat's bride finds herself playing both wives.

At a Union-Army Civil War prisoner-of-war camp, a group of Union soldiers and their Confederate prisoners engage in a singing contest, each trying to outdo the previous offering.

Solly is in love with Jane but Jane's father can't afford a big wedding. So he schemes with Solly's father, his business partner, to stage a big quarrel that will prompt Jane and Solly to elope. Complications arise.

The Cabin Kids, in between song and dance numbers, are at the county fair with intentions, fair or foul, of helping Mammy win the Pancakes cooking contest. Hillbillies Tom Emerson and His Mountaineers have a number also.

Buddy Page hires the Cabin Kids (young singers and dancers) to lock up the old band maestro who has the band in uniforms and playing boring music. The Kids also walk the town with signs advertising a new swing band.

Sylvia Froos is working as a singing song-plugger and is about to get fired because no sales result after she has sung a song. But another singer, who has been trying to get her to team up with him, intercedes and starts vocalizing a duet with her. A crowd gathers, sales result, and there is a happy singing finale number.

Buster West plays a young man who wants to marry a lady. But there's a problem...her father is a complete grouch! So the plan is to invite her and her father to dinner. And, after feeding him a great dinner, he'll be more likely to give his approval. But there are some problems. First, Buster gets his friend (Tom Patricola) to pose as his butler AND relies on this guy to cook the meal.
