David Lai Wai-Ming

A screenwriter gets involved with two actresses who are trying to succeed in the 1960s Hong Kong film industry.

Chan Wai (Simon Yam) is a former inner-city policeman recovering from a traumatic experience involving an AK-47. After the incident, he was assigned to a rural island as police chief of a small village. He passes his uneventful days there drinking beer, smoking hash and daydreaming... but when a group of heavily armed thugs invade his district, he must face his trauma head-on and fight back.

Chang Mi-Hua returns from Canada to take over an incompetent unit of the HK Police force.

A large family decide that they must find a bigger place because their current flat is too cramped and triads are threatening to burn them down to pass a message on to somebody down the corridor. So after being mucked around by an agent selling a house in the country, they move into a dilapidated house. They then discover that it is going to be torn down and a huge shopping centre erected.
