When the dead rise from their graves, the living have a second chance to mourn.

In Montreal, the teenagers Manon, Anne, Isa, Claudie and Sophie are friends since their childhood. While spending a couple of days in the cottage of Sophie's parents nearby a lake, the girls decide to give a party, and Manon and Sophie hitch for a ride to the town in a jeep to buy some beers and supplies and they invite the driver to the party. On the return, the same driver stops the car and later Sophie is found stabbed, raped and covered of blood. Fifteen years later, Manon sees the guy in a car-wash and she invites her former friends to return to the house nearby the lake, where wounds of their traumatic loss are disclosed.

When his wife dies, Carl offers his only son, Janeau, 12, a fresh start. They move to Mont Saint-Hilaire, where Janeau makes friends with Julie, a talented Pee-Wee hockey goalie determined to compete in the annual World Tournament held in Quebec. She convinces Janeau to join the team, but he has a hard time being accepted by the rest of the players, including Joey, the star player who has to endure constant pressure from his father.

A mother who has neglected herself for too long decides to find herself again by joining a garage hockey league.

In 1999, Paul and his partner Julie experienced beautiful moments with their young daughter. They are looking for a house in Montreal and frequently see their family, notably Julie's parents who live in St-Nicolas, a suburb of Quebec City. But the illness has hit Roland hard, the proud and generous patriarch of the family, who tries as best he can to hide the ultimatum he is suffering from his children. Life being what it is, Roland will have to be admitted to a palliative care center while his loved ones, including Paul, will have to come to terms with the idea of ​​his death. In the process, Paul will take up drawing.

A troubled man with personality issues tries to make sense of his relationships with the women in his life. His growing sense of despair will slowly push him to committing the irreversible.
