Pirkko Mannola and Esko Salminen play young pop stars of the same name, who develop a secret romance that is kept hidden from the other musicians in the pop orchestra. Between musical scenes, Pirkko introduces Esko to Ville Salminen, Toivo Kärki, and Reino Helismaa, among others, and gets him a spot in a big pop music show.

In 1916, Finland is still a part of Russian Empire. Eugen Schauman murders the governor of Finland, and his fellow activists take on smaller tasks in the fight for freedom.

Old Virtanen is a respected night watchman at a textile factory and a single father to his daughter Aino, who is about to graduate from high school. Professor Derek Wytycky and his son Hans, who are immersed in the study of Indian poetry, wake up one day to find that the mother of the family is nowhere to be seen. When their housekeeper Gloria also leaves, having had enough of the absent-minded men, father and son hire private detective Mademoiselle Catherine Anaconda to investigate Mrs. Wytycky's disappearance.

Waste paper collector Mikko dreams of being a wealthy mining engineer who succeeds in all his business ventures. He is also lucky in love when Clas, a factory owner, charming daughter Aune takes a liking to the charming mining engineer.

Helena Kara plays a dual role in this spectacularly portrayed adventure story where a real Countess and a false one cause misunderstandings. The film won Jussi Awards for filming and staging.
