Four scholarly people who find love. There is the smart and dashing Tang Bo Hu played by Nick Cheung. Greedy Chu Tse San (Bobby), noble and honest Wen Jing Ming (Gordon), and the guy who goes a long Chow Wen Bing (Macro).

The Ching family is an affluent family that produces textiles for the royal family, the govt officials and the army during the Tang Dynasty. Circumstances force the Ching's 4th son, Ching Chi Hin to marry Dun Ju, the daughter of a Tibetan general. However, their relationship is marred by misunderstandings and hatred for each other. The two remain in a loveless marriage, with Dun Ju wanting to return to Tibet and Chi Hin nicknaming her "stupid pig" because her name Dun Ju pronunciation sounds the same as "stupid pig" in Chinese. One day she runs into Luk Dung Jaun, a Tibetan govt official on the streets of the Tang capital. He tells her he is on a secret mission and asks for her help, promising that he will take her back to Tibet once they have finished their mission. Their mission is to find the long-lost illegitimate son of the Tibetan Emperor. The clues to finding this person is a gold butterfly pendant, a piece of jade and a birthmark on the person's chest.

Dai Fusheng (played by Lin Jiadong), Liu Ersuo (played by Chen Haomin) and Hui Ting (played by Zhang Shenyue) met in an orphanage. The helpless three regard each other as their own family members, and their relationship is very close. Dai Fusheng is old and willing to give, so he has always played the role of the brother among the three, while Liu Ersuo, who is idle and not doing business, depends entirely on Dai Fusheng's shelter. 　　 In fact, Hui Ting has been silently admiring Dai Fusheng, but Hui Ting knows that Dai Fusheng only regards herself as her younger sister, and her feelings for herself are only family affection, and what he really likes is a woman named Yin Xueyi (played by Ye Xuan). Although Tai Jin-sek has a canine partner, Rocky, he does not get along with his neighbour, Man Wing-long, who is a dog-loving veterinarian. When Wing-long's dog goes missing, she is quick to accuse Jin-sek of being the cause. The dynamics between the two neighbours change when Wing-long's friend, Au Ji-san, moves in with Wing-long and Jin-sek quickly falls in love with her. To complicate things further, Wing-long is also fielding a love interest at work, from a fellow veterinarian, Man Hok-yan.
