The feature-length documentary "Za slovo ručím životem" captures the sometimes uncompromising stances of the internationally acclaimed Czech writer Radka Denemarková, as well as the accessibility of the themes in her work to an international audience. Denemarková regards her literary talent as a gift and sees the fight for the human dignity of those who would otherwise never be heard as her moral duty. Her novels, which reflect both our present and recent past – such as Hodiny z olova and Peníze od Hitlera – have been translated into twenty-five languages. Their liberating friendship almost becomes a love affair, despite the fact it cannot be fulfilled. This liberation creates an intense bond between them: a new escape, a new quest. This is a love story of two people and their attempts to escape the trap of their own desires of belonging to somebody.
