7.7Do we still sing the praises of folly like Erasmus, or is it trendy again to be smart? And if so, who is the smartest? Who can talk about the medals won at the Olympic Games in London, but at the same time knows who Captain Haddock is? Who knows whether Lacan was a hair growth product or a psychoanalyst and can also program their own digital television? Who has déjà vu when leafing through the Encyclopedia Britannica and when reading the interviews with the new Miss Waregem Koerse? Who, oh who, is the smartest person in Flanders, Belgium, Europe, and by extension, the world? That is determined by a fierce battle between three fellow human beings. Every day, someone is eliminated, someone who may not be the smartest, but who is perhaps cherished in their family circle because of their many other talents. The others advance and are joined by a new challenger every day.

NRAn impromptu performance about longing. Longing for contact, longing for larger bubbles, and longing to see each other's faces again on public transport. At a distance, but very close to current events. We can do it again, we have to do it again. Skin hunger.

NRJan Jaap van der Wal has been living in Antwerp for years. He has a soft spot for the flat lands of Flanders. His flat land. He feels at home there and does his work there. In the theater and on TV. But when he stands on top of the cathedral, and the weather is clear, he can see the Netherlands in the distance. Also a flat land. Also his. A country that keeps calling to him. And so, Jan Jaap returns to the Dutch theaters. With the perspective of an outsider. Who sees things just a bit differently.

NRThe love between Jan Jaap van der Wal and his second home country Belgium has not cooled off. In fact, it has grown even deeper. So the comedian created a second show especially for Flanders. In Schoon, the Dutchman delves deeper into everything that is beautiful about Flanders. And beware: beauty can also be found in ugly things. The frayed edges, sharp corners, and worn spots. They are all beautiful. It's just how you look at it. With jokes that turn absurdity into logic and logic into absurdity, it promises to be a beautiful evening.

NRJan Jaap van der Wal is returning to our country. Because he enjoyed it so much here. So much so that he is coming to live here. Immigration, integration, language immersion, regional cuisine, general customs, and the French language. One thing is certain: Jan Jaap is moving to Flanders and bringing a mirror with him. For us. De Nieuwe Belg (The New Belgian) is the first stand-up comedy show by Dutch top comedian Jan Jaap van der Wal. A unique performance, created in and exclusively for Belgium.

NRReading relay of the novel 'Oeroeg' by Hella Haasse by eighty well-known and lesser-known Dutch people. Each person reads a page aloud, after which the book is passed on to the next reader. Philip Freriks, news anchor and ambassador for Nederland Leest, opens the reading relay. Director Shireen Strooker concludes it. 'Oeroeg' is Hella Haasse's debut novel from 1948. Haasse tells the story of the friendship between an Indonesian boy and the son of a Dutch administrator at a tea plantation in the Dutch East Indies before the Second World War. Gradually, the two boys grow apart. When the narrator, the Dutch boy, returns to the Indies—which has not yet quite become Indonesia—after studying in Delft, their estrangement turns out to have grown into a chasm. The final sentence reads: "Am I forever a stranger in the land of my birth, on the soil from which I do not wish to be uprooted? Time will tell."

NRDo you pee in the shower? Have you ever cheated on an exam? What is your favorite deep-fried snack? And do you prefer wine over beer? Not too serious topics, but we can still discuss them for hours. We will find out Flanders' answers to these and many more questions in the brand new humorous panel show Enquêtebureau with host Steven Van Herreweghe. Two teams of three well-known Flemish people compete against each other with the aim of testing their knowledge about the behavior and habits of the Flemish. In the meantime, the BVs themselves expose their souls in witty and often surprising anecdotes and revelations. The result: a panel show that holds up a mirror to the viewer at home. Because what's more fun than having a good laugh at ourselves?
