Sandesaya (Sinhalese language word meaning The Message) is a 1960 film. The film based on the war between the Sinhalese people and the Portuguese invaders in Sri Lanka. It was directed by Sri Lankan film director Lester James Peries. It was produced by K. Gunaratnam on behalf of the Cinemas Company on the request of Raj Kapoor.

Altynai is an orphan girl living in a remote mountain area. Though she is in her youth, Altynai never got a chance to have a proper education. With the founding of a new administrative structure, the government mediates to establish the education system in the rural areas. One day, Duishen an attractive stranger comes to the village to provide education facilities for the children in the village. He starts a school in the village. Yahaluvo (Friends) (යහළුවෝ), also known as Yahaluwo, is a 2007 Sinhala romantic drama film. It was directed by Sumitra Peries, produced by Namal Senasinghe, the brother of Sujeewa Senasinghe, and scored by Navaratne Gamage. The film stars Sujeewa Senasinghe and Pooja Umashankar in lead roles along with Iranganie Serasinghe, Tony Ranasinghe, Kamal Addararachchi, and Anarkali Akarsha in supportive roles. It is the 1097th Sri Lankan film in the Sinhala cinema.

Cyril (Tony Ranasinghe) is dissatisfied with his introverted fiancée Sujatha (Punya Heendeniya). He starts a relationship with the outgoing Sarojini (Anula Karunatilleke) and gets her pregnant. The story revolves around the match-maker Mangala Jaya (Vijaya), who is a poor, but kind hearted person with a single daughter. A series of hilarious incidents went through the plot, and though he is a match-maker, he fails to find a good boy to his young daughter. At last, his daughter was able to find the soul mate.

"Loku Duwa" depicts an attractive and self-sacrificing daughter of the middle class in the city who is trapped in a family of traditional values.

Sulanga Apa Ragena Yavi is a 2016 Sri Lankan Sinhala drama film directed by Nuwan Jayathilake and co-produced by director himself with Maya Nawagaththegama for Nawagaththegama Films. It stars Priyankara Rathnayake and Suranga Ranawaka in lead roles along with Sujeewa Priyalal and Iranganie Serasinghe

A sprawling portrait of rural life in Sri Lanka; the story revolves around a boy and his friend--a blind girl who he accidentally 'heals' by giving her sight. Though the girl believes the boy healed her, in reality the boy has no such powers. The father of the boy fools the village folk into believing he's a healer, but ultimately the sham is exposed, causing the village to revolt against the boy and his family.

Iqbal is about an Asian boy who gets sold by his father to a small carpentry production company in which child labour is supported. The children, about 5-10 years of age, have to work all day and they´re not allowed to go to toilet while at work, let alone visit their parents. Iqbal soon realizes that this is a massive injustice, especially when a member of the (unindentified) country´s Communist and Anti-child labour party takes photographs of the children.
