Based on Guththila Kavya, the film follows master musician Guththila and his ambitious disciple Musila, whose rivalry over art, pride, and integrity leads to a dramatic contest of skill and destiny.

In 1814, a nobleman from the Kandian Kingdom of Sri Lanka helped the British army to revolt against the king of Southern India, but was driven to a traitor. His wives have to choose between committing suicide or marrying outcasts. Instead of suicide, young and beautiful Tikiri chooses to marry an untouchable, named Vijaya.

Altynai is an orphan girl living in a remote mountain area. Though she is in her youth, Altynai never got a chance to have a proper education. With the founding of a new administrative structure, the government mediates to establish the education system in the rural areas. One day, Duishen an attractive stranger comes to the village to provide education facilities for the children in the village. He starts a school in the village. Young Altynai also joins the school to study. Together with the other ordinary villagers who don't know the value of education, both aunt and uncle of Altynai also try to destroy the school. Altynai tries her best to continue with her studies amid of all the hardships she faces.

It is essentially a love story between an architect and a beautiful village girl. The architect, Kalpa (Channa), travels to a hill country village for work and it is there that meets Menaka (Chaithra). Kalpana faces many challenges with a local group of thugs secretly investigating King Ravan's Ancestry Book. Menaka is a part of Ravan's Ancestry. Her father was murdered by some hidden enemies because of a conflict over a secret document regarding the Ravan Ancestry. Kalpa gets more intrigued about this matter and turns to the monk at the village temple for advice.

Samath's humble and patient demeanor is also highlighted in the movie and contrasts vehemently with the sense of entitlement we see in children educated in major cities. His innate desire to ensure that his village receives electricity and find a practical method of supplying water to his parents' paddy field are what motivate him. Will he succeed?

Vaishnavee (The Goddess), (Sinhalese: වෛෂ්ණාවී) is a 2018 Sri Lankan Sinhala drama thriller film directed by veteran director Sumitra Peries and produced by Mano Nanayakkara. 1930’s, Sri Lanka. Partly a compelling domestic drama, and a demonic love story, the narrative follows a puppet-maker who’s set to be married to a young girl. Unfortunately, the girl elopes with her secret lover. Devastated, the grieving puppet-maker ends up carving a puppet in her likeness, which eventually comes to life, setting in motion a fantastical chain of events.

Iqbal is about an Asian boy who gets sold by his father to a small carpentry production company in which child labour is supported. A sprawling portrait of rural life in Sri Lanka; the story revolves around a boy and his friend--a blind girl who he accidentally 'heals' by giving her sight. Though the girl believes the boy healed her, in reality the boy has no such powers. The father of the boy fools the village folk into believing he's a healer, but ultimately the sham is exposed, causing the village to revolt against the boy and his family.
