Witse is a Dutch language crime drama produced by Belgian broadcaster VRT and broadcast on their één channel. It is also shown on BVN. First broadcast in 2004, as of 2010 the programme comprises eight series with a ninth and final series planned for 2012. It stars Hubert Damen as the eponymous Witse, a driven inspector in the Belgian federal police based in Halle. It is one of the most popular Flemish television programmes with some 1.6 million viewers. There are also Witse books. The first three were based on the last two episodes of each season, but since 2010 every six months a brand new story is published, written and invented by established Belgian writers, as Bob Van Laerhoven and Bart Van Lierde. Ed Bex, a man with an eating disorder: as soon as he puts something in his mouth, he sees what happened to it. He uses this special gift in his unusual job: with 'The Last Greeting' he helps relatives to reconstruct the last hours of their dearly deceased. When Inspector Adams finds a body in an airtight bag, he asks for Ed's help. Ed has doubts: does he want to use his gift in a murder case? When he does get stuck into the case, he becomes entangled in a mix of absurd situations, personal chaos and deep pangs of conscience.

After her father is involved in a serious accident, 11-year-old Yuna’s life is turned upside down. Reunited with her mother, Yuna faces the possibility of a drastic change, which she refuses to face.

The story centers on Hilde, a bar owner in a small port town who raises her young son, Stijn, alone after his father, Paul, abandoned them right after his birth. Hilde has since built a new life and found comfort with her new partner, Guy. The tension rises when Paul, a wandering sailor, suddenly returns after years at sea. His unexpected arrival creates an intense love triangle, reopening old emotional wounds. As Paul tries to re-seduce Hilde, conflicts explode between the three adults. Amidst this chaos of love, jealousy, and anger, young Stijn is left shocked by these complicated adult problems, trying his best to fix what is broken.
