The devil tricks a little boy off his laughter in exchange for assured wins in all his bets. It depicts his journey after the deal with the devil, how he loses his soul bit by bit with each win.

Success is a question of confidence, particularly in times of crisis. Life would be unbearable if there weren’t beautiful things to brighten it up a little, including pretty faces. Frank Knöpfel constantly flirts with life with his beguiling bright blue eyes. He buys a complete stranger an expensive coat in a designer boutique just because he feels like it. He disguises himself as a businessman from Oslo, a Mafia boss, a stock exchange specialist and an estate agent, whatever it takes to bring in the cash. He is the type of person who enjoys looking in the mirror, and delights in what he sees there. A flirtation with a customer in a boutique leads to Frank’s undoing.

David Bottcher, a lawyer on a long hiatus for recovery from a mental illness, starts working as a liquidator for a firm. Things start going wrong when an employee he dismisses starts stalking him.

The fact that Rudolph Moshammer is a dazzling figure and the most prominent fashion designer in Munich is no longer enough for his silent partners and financiers. So it happens that he is looking for a seductive woman to sell and - to the horror of his mother - brings on the young pedicurist Evi from Augsburg, of all places. With Evi's help, Mosahmmer wins the hearts and purses of the truly rich - if it weren't for his mother, who is scheming in the background. A fictional story that tells of beauty and money, but also of the friendship of two outsiders in Munich in 1983.

As common as they are in literature and the movies, in real life there aren't many crooks who will agree to discuss their crimes publicly. In Con Man Confidential, four pathological liars talk candidly about their schemes, their victims and their motivations. It took director Alexander Adolph a couple of years to gain the trust of his subjects and to get unlimited access to their criminal files. Now, Torsten S., Marc Z., Peter G. en Jürgen H. explain how they led double lives for years.
