An important component of Brajnik's film narration is the musical composition and accompanying voiceover of the artist's alter ego.

The year 1968 came and went, and the world—at least for us—began to change dramatically. Few people expected the change to be so great and so bad. Even Lukáš Knapp, a twenty-year-old singer and the driving force behind the rock band Klub osamělých srdcí (Club of Lonely Hearts). A young man at the peak of his youthful self-confidence, who has no doubts about the correctness of his thoughts and feelings, who feels no need to compromise with the times, who wants to live in truth and despises lies, begins to slide down a spiral that spares no one and nothing. Not even the music he plays and worships. It is truly a story from a time that was not worth much, but which cost many of the young people of that time everything. It was a time that brought even rebels and free spirits, such as rock musicians undoubtedly are, to the edge of their true inner courage, but also their humanity.

The episodic film MARBLES consists of several short stories about how women manipulate with men. About subtle blackmailings, about crying, about tears, about the ability to sacrifice oneself for a dream, about sex as a service, about the way we can use empathy. It all starts on the playground among children and death does not equal the end. As time goes by, a feminine mechanism of manipulation develops, shapes up, ripens until it reaches the stage of perfection. Individual short stories take place at a techno party as well as in a Catholic parsonage and they conclude in a content domestic routine of two old people which cannot be disrupted by anything – not even by death. The short stories about women of different age and lifestyle put together a story of one complete human life which was, thanks to the manipulation with others, lived according to the plan and at the same time and from the same reason wasted away.

Three perpetually stoned young men—Honza, Petr, and Karel—throw a party at one of their apartments, which ends with the death of Nikol, a prostitute they hired, in Honza's parents' bed. The clueless friends try to get rid of the dead body at all costs, setting off a series of unbelievable situations. A hired killer and a quirky mafia henchman named Iggy are hot on their trail...

"Sex, drugs and rock and roll", not in the West but in a Communist police state - Soviet-occupied Czechoslovakia of the 1970s . Anti-hero Olin, 21, has just left a mental hospital, after having slashed his wrists to dodge military service. His prominence in the underground scene of youthful revolt makes him an increasing target for the forces of order. Eventually he is on the run, determined to cross the frontier to the "West" he dreams of.

Father Viktor, highly capable and successful in his profession, and his son Petr, an equally successful and promising student, suddenly find themselves in an unexpected situation – after the death of their wife and mother, these two exemplary models of the perfect man and student must deal with such a mundane matter as taking care of the household. As capable, intelligent, and successful men, they naturally see no problem with this. Their experienced neighbor Lupínek, a distinguished grandfather with four grandchildren to look after, warns them in vain and offers his help. Male vanity and pride are stronger. As a result, they gradually find themselves in a whirlwind of embarrassments, problems, and disasters that gradually erode their self-confidence and destroy their firm belief in their own perfection. Fortunately, Uncle Artur comes to the rescue.

The inner drama of Jiří Mánka, a forty-year-old cashier at Živnostenská banka, who has artistic talent, both musical and painterly. After his experiences on the battlefields of World War I, he chose a job that provides him with a very good livelihood, but does not satisfy his ambitions. He lives alone with his mother and gets along well with his brother Teodor, with whom he shares a love of music. Jiří's life is shaken up by a chance encounter with a young, attractive girl named Adéla, with whom he feels relaxed and rejuvenated, at least at first...

Two half-siblings Jana and Miroslav are ineffectually trying to escape their mutual attraction and break free from their fatal relationship. Two time levels, presence and 1970s, inter-mesh in the film.
