Krister is in for an even bigger shock as he meets twenty something Ewa. Krister thinks he is falling in love with her, which gives him a new zest for life. It is Christmas Eve evening. And just on this evening, three suspicious men unexpectedly arrive at the guesthouse. On the radio, every now and then, announcements are made about the three wanted criminals, so Basia has the right to think that they are the ones. The game begins, a spiral of mutual suspicion and accusations is set in motion. Nevertheless, everyone tries to spend Christmas Eve solemnly and with dignity. And it is only during the dressing of the Christmas tree and Christmas Eve dinner that each of the men discovers his true face and his reasons for coming to Basia's boarding house.
