A family finds it difficult to talk about feelings, love or intimacy. Hiring, selling and repairing excavators requires the attention of the family. Everyone has to pitch in. When the daughter has a fatal accident, the family idyll falls apart.

Alina's stepfather, a Nigerian who works as a chef in Zurich, is arrested for allegedly dealing drugs. Visits to the remand center take their toll on the patchwork family. Is he guilty?

Samuel meets Philippe, one highly admired colleague of his best friend Andreas. As the two get close, Andreas finds himself irritated and put in the uncomfortable position to watch his best mate helplessly fall in love.

A generation portrait in which we follow the lives of five international economy students from their studies at the University of St. Gallen over the course of five years: during their academic education, in their private lives and the first years of their professional careers.

Samuel, Malcolm, Remy, Jan, Kowalski and Jasper have no problem at all with being gay. Unfortunately, their friends, their parents and sometimes even their crush do. But that's no reason for sadness: experiences have to be made. And maybe after the next party everything will look completely different. Youth research!
