Young bride Patricia Morley's flirtatious ways at a summer resort keep her husband Henry in a state of continual anxiety. At an old-fashioned barn dance, Patricia enacts the role of a chicken breaking out of an egg, and Henry's wrath explodes. After accusing her of being in love with another man, Henry returns to New York and files for divorce. Heartbroken, Patricia sends her friend Victoria French to tell Henry that she is dying.

Hello, Trouble

American surveyor William MacDonald visits an Ojibway village in the Canadian Northwest. He seduces a local half-breed girl named Annette while her fiancé Baptiste and half-brother Jules are away trapping. MacDonald then abandons her. When Annette realizes she is pregnant, she wanders into the forest while delirious and is killed by wolves. Jules and Baptiste seek revenge. They track MacDonald to the cabin of a cruel Scotsman, Andrew MacTavish, whose daughter Hilda is loved by Jules. MacDonald tries to convince MacTavish to let him take Hilda to America. Hilda falls in love with Jules instead. When Hilda, Jules, and Baptiste try to escape in a canoe, MacDonald follows them. Jules fights MacDonald in a duel with guns and knives, killing MacDonald before leaving for Montreal with Hilda.

Comedy in which Charles retaliates when Louise breaks off their engagement. Louise breaks off her engagement to Charles. Out of revenge, Charles and his friends turn Kees the milkman into a Scottish lord, who is meant to make a big impression at the ball. He dances very rudely with Louise, and out of nervousness admits that he is only a milkman. Charles responds angrily, and pretends that this was a joke that his friends had arranged; he then tries to hit Kees and his friends. Louise stops him, and they kiss, once again in love.

Billy first sells a sandlot to an unsuspecting female buyer, then abducts his girl in caveman fashion.

This amusing and diverting comedy depicts the trials and tribulations of a French nobleman to win the hand of a rich American girl. He is about to succeed when Fate, in the form of two tramps, steps in and he has to abdicate in favor of the higher power.

At the Old Maid's Call

Ray and Roy Cheep are both in love with the charming manicurist, but each is unaware of his brother's "affairs." The lady, however, encourages both of them. The two boys are hard up, but live in hopes of their rich uncle loosening up with a substantial allowance. Finally the uncle tells them that he will give $1,000 to the one who marries first. They each go off for a license and a minister, but when they arrive at Miss Charmer's house they find her about to go out with uncle. The next day then each receive a check for $1,000, which helps to console them for the loss of the charming lady.

When her husband, struggling lawyer Horace Dillingham, is unable to provide adequate money for her insatiable desire for expensive cherries, Kitty Dillingham goes to work as a stenographer for him. One day while Horace is out of the office, Kitty mistakes Jonas Collamore, a defendant in a divorce suit for whom Horace is acting, for an important client. Kitty agrees to lunch, and, swallowing many maraschino cherries along with their cocktails, becomes drunk. Jonas takes her to a nearby inn where they are followed by Mrs. Collamore's detectives, who then summon Mrs. Collamore and her lawyer Horace.

Mr. Dippy and his daughter Ruth are both very fond of the water and spend a good deal of time at the beach. Ruth meets and falls in love with the handsome lifesaver, and he falls an easy victim of her charms. Father Dippy also succumbs to cupid's arrow and becomes madly infatuated with Miss Fascination. When father sees Ruth and the life-saver together he flies into a rage and takes her home. A day or two later Mr. Dippy and Ruth are again at the beach. Mr. Dippy sees Miss Fascination and she takes him canoeing. The canoe is overturned and Mr. Dippy, who is unable to swim, calls for help. Mr. Life Guard and Ruth go to his assistance. The novel way in which the pair force him to consent to their marriage is extremely funny.

The Usual Way

Polly Eccles is a "ragged girl" living in a dank slum who is responsible for her sickly four-year-old brother, Billy. After a doctor advises that Billy needs a healthier climate to recover, Polly packs their few belongings and decides they will walk to California. While hitchhiking along the way with their dog, the siblings are given a lift by Kirk Drummond, a young man who happens to be driving to California himself. Upon arriving, Kirk’s wealthy father, John Drummond, is initially horrified by his son's association with the "ragged" travelers. However, the story follows Polly’s trials as she attempts to navigate this new world and ensure her brother's health.

Jack has fallen in love with an unknown beauty, and when he and his friend Tom meet her on the street, he is overjoyed to find his friend is acquainted with her, but furious at Tom's failure to introduce him. Knowing that Edith's family are in need of a butler, Tom proposes to Jack that he apply for the job, just for a lark. Jack does, and just to see him "buttle" is a picnic. He gets in wrong with everybody but Edith's father, who discovers that "Wilson," their former butler, is young Mr. Fuller, one of the richest bachelors in town. Edith and Jack run to each other's arms.

A band of crooks, headed by Harry Gribbon, are on a train when they learn of a telegram sent to a fellow passenger, who is a police commissioner. The wire identifies him as official collector for the Old Cops' Home. A little chloroform does for him and when the train pulls out of his destination he is still on board while Gribbon is posing as the commissioner-collector.

Dad's Insanity

Mr. Simp is subservient to all his wife does or says, and as his wife is a militant suffragette, Mr. Simp is a firm adherent to the cause. He receives a letter from Mr. Charles Trouble, telling him to meet that gentleman, as he would like to talk business with him.
