Arko, a film student, invites Subir Banerjee, who played the legendary role of Apu, to attend an award ceremony in Germany. But the old man hesitates to accept the invitation.

Throughout her life, Supriya loved a man and was married to another man however she did not either escape from her responsibilities as a doting wife. However, her inner feelings keep tormenting her all her life and her married life becomes an utter failure. She not only ruins her life but everybody else's around her. Nilachaley Mahaprabhu was a 1957 Indian Bengali biographical film directed by Kartik Chattopadhyay, based on the life of 15th-century mystic Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, who started his spiritual journey and Hindu reform movement, part of the Bhakti movement during his years at Nilachal, the shrine of Jagannath at Puri. It stars Asim Kumar in the titular role with Dipti Roy, Sumitra Devi, Ahindra Choudhury, Bhanu Bandyopadhyay, Nripati Chattopadhyay and Chhabi Biswas in supporting roles.

This is a very old Bengali movie which shows Sri Ramakrishna's innocent and pure devotion to the divine mother. India, with her wealth of spiritual tradition, has produced many spiritual giants. One of the greatest was Ramakrishna (1836-1886). His life was a testament to truth, universality, love and purity. Born in a rural village outside Calcutta, Ramakrishna even as a boy naturally gravitated toward leading a spiritual life. This tendency only intensified as he grew older. When as a young man he became a temple priest, he was seized by an unquenchable thirst for union with God, and he immersed himself in intense meditation and other spiritual practices.

Bhupen is an excellent student who works as a private tutor to support his education and family. He begins to teach Sandhya who is a rich man's granddaughter. She ends up falling for him and that ruins his career, even though he did not feel the same for her. He later gets married to Kalyani but he and Sandhya still share a bond for the sake of her property.

The movie revolves around the unwanted incidents that happened in the princely state of Ratnagarh. After the murder of King Chandrakanta, one Dr. Palit (Kamal Mitra) asked for help from one Detective Smarajit Sen (Sisir Batabyal), as a family friend. Detective Sen sent his assistant Bimal to Ratnagarh to investigate and ascertain the security of young Kumar Bahadur, a new predecessor of the royal family of the estate. They observed that a mysterious lady Manjusri (Manju De) sang an uncanny song in the adjacent water body near the palace. Mr. Gupta (Bikash Roy), a suspicious botanist who stayed in the neighborhood also roamed in that locality. It revealed that he was deprived of the real property of the royal family and took revenge by killing the members of the family. He used one deaf and dumb porter as a hired killer. Ultimately, he was killed by the detective at the end before he could commit another murder.
