Paul Flanagan is released from jail after serving for 8 years. He only has two things on his mind. First: to retrieve the money from the robbery he was convicted for. Secondly: to get revenge on his partners in crime (his half-brother Paul and his ex-lover Cathy), who got away Scot free and never once visited him in jail.

An Englishman in Holland gets involved in a murder case. It looks bad for him, but the wily Inspector Van Der Valk isn't convinced of his guilt.

A gang of six wealthy, well-dressed and well-spoken hoodlums break into a married couple's house and rape the wife while forcing the husband to watch. Thus begins a dogged investigation by a determined detective who quickly finds that their cult-like solidarity can be a serious obstacle to breaking them.

After being released from prison a career criminal wants to start a new life. To finance this new life he decides to rob a small-town bank during a funfair. Meanwhile, he's trying to get rid of a women who can tie him to a previous crime.

The film is about a successful artist Vincent, whose marriage to Linda falls apart due to his success. This is partly because Vincent starts a relationship with Evelien. Another important event is the fatal traffic accident involving his son Erik.

Film adaptation of the novel of the same name by Simon Vestdijk from 1968. During a dinner with the Van der Laan family, memories are reminisced about previous parties that ended in orgy-like scenes.
