The gradual assimilation of the people into British culture deeply affects Minyeli Abdullah, who is devoted to his traditions. Abdullah organizes religious discussions in his home and teaches people about Islam. One of his neighbors accuses Abdullah of forming an organization and reports him to the police. Abdullah is arrested during a raid on his home. After Abdullah is imprisoned, his wife Sevde goes to her father's house. Under pressure from her family, she divorces her husband. Abdullah, who is accused of opposing the government, continues his discussions in prison. The police chief, who is disturbed by this situation, tries every means possible to have Abdullah executed.
