The movie's main storyline follows the life of Otík, a young man, in a tight-knit village community. The sweet-tempered Otík works as an assistant truck driver with Mr. Pávek, his older colleague and practical-minded neighbor. Pávek's family takes care of Otík, whose parents are dead. However, the two coworkers become at odds over Otík's inability to perform even the simplest tasks. Pávek demands that Otík be transferred to assist another driver, who happens to be a choleric and suspicious man named Turek (Turk in Czech). Rather than work with Turek, Otík decides to accept an offer of employment in Prague, but finds he does not fit in to the city life. After discovering that the transfer of Otík to Prague was a trick by a crooked politician to get a deal on Otík's large inherited house, Pávek agrees to give Otík a second chance and retrieves him from the city to resume their work together.

Adolescence is always a difficult time; it is doubly so for Gábina. For one thing, she is growing up in the normalization years of the 1970s, and then she also has to face the reality that her father is a well-known actor disavowed by the regime. Although he abandoned the family years before, his existence casts an ominous shadow over the lives of not only Gábina, but also her older sister and mother, who are trying to find a civilized way through the social mire of the times.

This downbeat, grim drama about three brothers who are reunited at their mother's funeral is actually visually as dark as its story, making it difficult at times to clearly distinguish a scene. These brothers are not particularly exceptional as people go, but at least they have branched out into separate vocations in their lives. One brother is a doctor, another is a criminal, and the third is a bus driver. Like others in Europe, they suffered through World War II, yet no matter what their backgrounds and experiences, their interpersonal relationships are not exactly gripping drama.

However, Comenius's concept is sculpturally lifeless and, in particular, the religious dimension is "erased" from it. The simplistic biography therefore does not avoid schoolboyish dryness.

The story of a Czech national revivalist, writer and author of a famous cookbook... The story takes us to Litomyšl in 1836. The local bourgeois society, which does not fail to interject a German word into their conversation as proof of good upbringing and better origin, slanders Mrs. Rettigová. "Rettička" not only fights for standard Czech, is a patriot, but also attracts young girls and students to her and lends them Czech books. She simply disrupts the good old order. Another sensation in the town is caused by the announcement of a planned wedding. Maiden Lenka will marry old doctor Plavec. When Mrs. Rettigová finds out about it, she invites both fiancés to her, each separately. This comedy is about one average family. The father works as master in the factory and his son is studying on high school. One day father must start to visit the evening school. It's the same school as his son visiting. The lives both students are connecting together. The son must teach the math and physics his own father. The father getting to know, that the life of the students is not simple as he supposed.

Jack Duluth, together with Ronald Sheldon, is the owner of a wealthy publishing house and considers his co-owner to be his best friend. That's why he is greatly upset that his son Bill has fallen in love with Ronald's young new wife Jean. Jean and her poor, eccentric family are completely financially dependent on Sheldon. Especially her father, an unrecognized writer who expects the publisher to publish his controversial writings. However, the young people's mutual romantic attraction soon becomes apparent, and Sheldon explodes. He intends to sever his friendly ties not only with Duluth and his son, but also to expel his wife and her family from his home. The next day, however, the servant finds him shot dead. Bill is arrested, having taken the murder weapon.

She quits her job, turns their apartment into a hair salon, and begins networking with influential people. A tragicomic story from a tragicomic time - this is how one could characterize Jiří Hubac's play, which premiered in May 1991. The drama of two friends who fought in England as Czech airmen during the war and had to live through the well-known martyrdom after returning home is a story about the power of friendship, the courage to transcend oneself in the face of violence and the right to preserve human memory. The television film by director Jaroslav Dudek, who cast Jiří Bartoska and Josef Dvořák in the lead roles, was honoured with the prestigious Prix Europe international award in Reykjavik.

The family is connected with Prague's "Kolbenka", the ČKD locomotive factory. Grandfather Antonín, already retired, son Rudolf, a master in the locomotive assembly section and grandson Antonín, a promising football player. The film also tells the story of Rudolf's daughter Vera - each generation has its own ideas about life and cannot identify with the others. The film is linked by retrospective sequences from the lives of Antonín the Elder and Rudolf, especially from the war years. It is a realistic take on working-class life, unencumbered by ideology (despite the opening dedication), featuring well-known and time-tested actors in mainly male roles.

MUDr. Pěnička, an incorruptible and honest dentist, constantly has problems passing his driving test. In vain, his wife Boženka looked forward to a trip in a new car. Pěnička did not overcome his nervousness this time either and failed the driving test at the driving school again. When he is alone with an instructor behind the wheel, he drives like a top, but when someone else is sitting behind him, he is nervous and all his skills and knowledge are gone...

Ruth has won the fight for love, and has put Magda before the tough decision: to give up Adam and maintain friendship with Ruth, or give preference to his heart? When Adam gets a dream internship abroad and leaves for Austria, Ruth takes his fresh pregnancies and refuses to go with him.
