The matchmaking is completed and the parents of the two young people accept the union, without knowing that their children love each other madly. Avgeris, who does not want to betray his beloved, refuses to take Pothiti as his wife and comes into conflict with Lycopanagos, and is killed. Poulias is forced to take refuge in a monastery, and shortly afterwards she dies in turn.
