This is a thriller based on a theatre play by Horia Lovinescu - „Omul care şi-a pierdut omenia” (The Man Who Lost His Humanity) with elements of adventure, suspense and confrontations between good and evil.

The loving couple of this grotesque parable parody of the Kádár-regime, Mária and István row to an uninhabited, idyllic island. Soon crazy tent-pitchers swarm to the island, led by an official representative of the regime.

The film is a historic parable about the topicality of revolution. 1514. The peasants' uprising is over, Dózsa has been arrested. Werbőczy tries to get the imprisoned peasant leader deny the revolution and offers him the lives of his people in exchange.

Major Smith, a British intelligence officer, receives an assignment to transport to England a professor of the University of Bucharest, a geologist who has discovered a deposit of uranium ore in Romania. However, the professor suddenly disappears. To find him, the British devise a complex operation. In turn, German intelligence decides to use the results of the British. But there is a third interested party - Romanian patriots. They are relentlessly following the actions of the two intelligence agencies, trying to protect the professor and his discovery. With their help, the Romanian police commissioner manages to arrest the whole gang of spies.

A young boy is adopted by a priest and his wife during the Nazi occupation of Romania during the Second World War. He befriends the village idiot, who's despised by everyone else. When a German is killed in the last days of the war, the village is threatened with total destruction unless the murderer is handed over. The villagers decide to hand over the idiot.

After defeating some Iron Guard gangs in Bucharest, those who survived were hiding somewhere in the mountains. Several bloody events took place in one of the smaller villages. In the unequal struggle with criminals entered the former police commissioner who meanwhile became a Major in Romanian Communist Police, Mihai Roman.
