At the end of the World War II and the middle of the Chinese Revolution, three couples from different backgrounds with different nationalities flee from China to the island of Taiwan.

A story of three couples and their intertwining love stories set in 1940s Taiwan and Shanghai, centered around the 1949 sinking of Taiping.

Jin Ying is currently experiencing two of life’s most depressing moments: She is jilted by her fiancé, and her loving grandmother passes away. Heartbroken, she decides to visit the European city of Prague, and hopes to use the time to heal her inner pain. While in Prague, she meets a young Chinese man named Punk. There, she slowly unravels a secret romance her grandmother once experienced long ago.

Poor and forgotten, a young man and a young woman fell in love and got married in the Mongolian grassland. Now living like the middle-class, they realize the passion once bounded them together has run out.

The movie ends with Xu meeting his old love interest from 15 years ago, suggesting a new relationship between them.

Follows urban youngsters in their pursuit of true love and all the set backs and comedic mishaps along the way.

This French film chronicles the amazing-but-true story of Lisa Alling who in 1928 successfully walked from New York City to Siberia via the Bering Straight by following telegraph poles. It was shot entirely in the Ukraine. Lisa, a chambermaid, has had enough of American life and wants go home to Siberia. Because she had no money, she decided it was better to walk than stay in the U.S. any longer. An opportunist, she takes whatever food, warmth and even romance that is offered along the way.

Lulu from Sicily drives with his small rickety Fiat to Paris to fulfill his lifelong dream: he buys a red cabriolet. From the top of the Eiffel Tower he has to watch as his car is stolen by a man who intends to steal the Mona Lisa. In the course of a chase with the police, his car is completely wrecked. When getting back to it, the police takes Lulu for the thief and arrests him.

Labeled a rightist because of his capitalist father, Lingjun has been forced to live as a humble herdsman on the grasslands. His bitter life has been transformed by a happy marriage to the wise and beautiful Xiuzhi, and more recently by his rehabilitation by the Party. When he goes to Beijing for their reunion, he discovers his father wants him to work for his chemical company in San Francisco. Lingjun tells the story of his life to his father, as he ponders his future.

Xingxian is a 18 year old girl who finds herself engaged to a 8 year old boy. When a young man her age comes to town, she falls in love. They eventually elope and she become the first girl from her village to break the tradition of arranged marriage.
