Ramudu (Taraka Rathna) is a youngster and also a 'chekka bhajana' performer in Bhadrachalam. When his grandmother forces him to get married, he falls in love with a 'chekka bhajana' learner Seeta (Radhika) and marries her. Immediately after the marriage, Seeta gives a slip to Ramudu and returns to her homeland Germany.The real reason for Seeta's act is due to an advice from her astrologer. He said that her first marriage would not work out. Her marriage is fixed with her bava Ravi and she loves him too. But she does not want any complications in her marital life. Hence she marries Ramudu at Bhadrachalam and ditches him to go back to Germany and marry Ravi so that her second marriage would be fruitful. The rest of the story is all about how Ramudu with his chekkalu and Lord Rama's vermilion (kunkuma) fly to Germany to fight his aunt Jagadamba (Vani Sri) and bring back her daughter and his wife Seeta.

Janapada tells the story of folk singer Chandranna, who feels that singing and entertaining people is better than any recognition from the government. It is only when the kids suffer through a crucial illness that they are reminded of their oaths and the couple set out on a pilgrimage along with their children to all the nine goddesses – Kollur Mookambike, Badami Banashankeri, Mysore Chamundeswari, Belgaum Yallamma, Horanadu Annapurneshwari, Katilu Durgaparameshwari, Annamma Devi of Bangalore, Shringeri Sharadambe, Gokarna Parameshwari. There are also villains in the film in the form of the other family members who are bent upon killing the children.

Chami (Rangayana Raghu) cheats Shantakka (Umashri) who comes to city with big dreams of marrying Chami but pushed to prostitution by him. Gowri (Radhika), an orphan was brought up by Shantakka while another boy Kummi (Mayur) an orphan too was brought up by Dasanna (Kashi) - Umasri and Radhika in Manian auto driver. The way Shantakka struggle to mould her daughter's life, protect her from the hands of pimps, her affection, frustration, innocence of Gowri, Kummi's true love, corrupt police officers, brutal pimp Chami - every single frame of the film is so aptly done, you have to watch the film to experience it. Whether the two hearts come together? Will Shantakka be able to safeguard her daughter from brutal hands? etc form the story.

Vishwas and Samarth, two best friends, fall in love with the same girl. However, Samarth decides to hide his feelings and sacrifice his love.
