In a certain village, a pretty girl marries an older, not very attractive shoemaker. He is sensible, prudent, and enjoys a quiet family life, while she has a good heart but is short-tempered. That is why they quarrel all day long. The master, dissatisfied with married life, longs for something better. When the cobbler has had enough of everything, he decides to go out into the world. This changes the master completely. In his absence, she beautifies him in her imagination until she creates an image of a perfect, model husband. She rejects all suitors and bravely earns her living as an innkeeper. The shoemaker returns in disguise after some time. When he is convinced that his wife has been faithful to him, he makes himself known to her and hopes that she will welcome him with open arms. But he is bitterly disappointed; the dream has vanished, the mistress has realised the difference between her fantasies and reality, so that their life once again returns to its old ways.

A comedy about five students who are un-justly suspected of trying to lose their virginity before their graduation. The five girls first try to defend themselves, but when they find out that nobody believes them - neither the school principal nor even their own parents - they decide to accomplish what they have been falsely accused of. And although their clumsy attempts are mostly comic, at one point they almost cause a big tragedy.

A girl is transformed into a maple tree by her impulsive and angry mother. Three poor wandering musicians come by the tree and create instruments from it. Walking around the country instead of happiness they bring death everywhere with their cursed instruments. However they cannot get rid of them, unless they bury the wooden instruments at the place of the tree. The three are anything but harmonious, each taking in their disputes various stances.

A film adaptation of the novelette of the same title written by Dominik Tatarka depicts the life of a young generation of artists that was formed in Slovakia during the war. Anabella, a young and beautiful girl meets a group of artists. She awakens their erotic desires but also pure feelings of love; she becomes the object of their secret fantasies as well as their artistic inspiration. And it seems that the boundaries between reality and fantasy suddenly cease to exist.

A film about the dramatic lives of the people living in the village of Ráztoka during WW I. Women are left without husbands, families fall apart, finding themselves on the verge of poverty. Eva, the main heroine, is going through difficulties after her husband was drafted to the army. The construction of a large dam in Slovakia is hindered by the influence of small farmers on the landowner Bujna, on whom they depend for help with the harvest and for monetary loans.

A TV film from a mining environment shows the tragic outcome of hatred between brothers. The mother, a simple woman, has an uncanny ability to foresee events ahead. All her life she passively accepts her fate. Despite knowing what awaits her loved ones and her, she does not confront it. It is only when she sees the tragic conflict between her sons that she decides to prevent it.
