A couple makes dolls modeled on neighborhood kids. A gardener at a mansion buys four of them for Mary, the girl of the house. He's her only friend: her parents neglect her for work and card games and her governess is humorless. Mary loves the dolls and dreams of them during her nap. While Mary sleeps, the governess throws the dolls in the dust bin. Mary wakes and goes searching - outside she runs into the very same four kids who were the dolls' models, and she thinks she's still dreaming...

Blake, the crooked foreman of a cattle ranch, murders a sheep rancher. Then after framing ranch hand Jack for the murder, he urges the ranch hands to hang him. Jamison has a very jealous wife. Mrs. Jamison has a very gossipy friend. When the friend spots Jamison on the street talking to an attractive young woman, she reports back to Mrs. Jamison that her husband is obviously having an affair. Mrs. Jamison storms out, and a few minutes later a guest arrives for a visit -- a Professor Brown. Jamison doesn't realize the professor is a woman, and Mrs. Jamison, who has returned, doesn't realize the woman is Professor Brown. She presumes she has caught her husband with his mistress. A dancing butler, a game-playing dog, and a very accommodating burglar complicate the situation.

The head of a big movie studio is pulling his hair out because the company is bankrupt unless they can find a writer for a smash comedy. An aspiring writer is awaiting outside the office and the producer agrees to see him. He listens while the writer tells his story and acts the numerous parts. The story is rotten, but the producer lets him escape while vowing vengeance on any other author who would read his story aloud.

Elsie Peyton’s parents favor two different men for her. Dad likes Bruce Farney, as does Elsie while Mom prefers Bob Howard. The domineering Mrs. Peyton sees to it that football player Bruce is discouraged from taking Elsie to the game. Bruce stops in a barbershop where Minette, the manicurist flirts with him to make barber Ed jealous. Disappointed when he sees Elsie with Bob at the game Bruce follows them in his car. Meanwhile, Mrs. Peyton calls Minette to the house for a manicure. When the trio arrive from the game the house is suddenly placed under a 2-week quarantine for smallpox. Hilarious complications ensue as Bruce is obliged to room with his rival, but by a clever trick Bruce marries Elsie despite the quarantine.

However, his pursuit of Sylvia runs into some roadblocks, mainly the hostility of the local cattle ranchers to "sheepmen" like her father, whose sheep they believe ravage the range and leave it unusable for their cattle to graze on and who are determined to drive the new arrivals out of town.

Tom Drury, a cowboy whose quick thinking stops a notorious outlaw, "The Hawk," from further misdeeds. The villain, as it turns out, is none other than Henry Suggs (James Mason), heretofore considered a pillar of the community.....

Texas Ranger Bill Storm is sent to El Paso to ferret out a gang of counterfeiters thought to be working there and, on the way, gives a ride to New York socialite Beverly Dix, whose car has been wrecked on the road to El Paso. Bill quickly comes to suspect Earl Hanway and Lefty Waterman of passing bad bills; taking Beverly's father into his confidence, Bill identifies the counterfeiting plant, arrests Hanway and Waterman, and finds himself with his arms full of Beverly.
