This film follows Jean, a young French soldier who is physically and mentally scarred by his experiences on the front lines. He struggles to readjust to civilian life, and his family soon realizes the extent of his trauma. Jean's childhood sweetheart, Madeleine, is now married to his friend and fellow soldier, Pierre. Jean's family fears he will succumb to his despair, and they desperately search for ways to help him find peace.

The legend of Aladdin and his magic lamp: Aladdin finds a magic lamp which brings him wealth, luxury, and marriage to a princess. But his rival, an evil magician, steals the lamp for himself. Aladdin must regain the lamp or lose everything.

Young lovers separate, she to a career on the stage and he to remain in the small village in which they grew up. Years pass and he is hired to be a porter for a theater company and finds her, a far different woman who does not recognize him.

A policeman spots a dog stealing a piece of meat from a butcher's shop, and gives chase. Soon several more policemen have joined the pursuit. But the chase does not turn out as the policemen expect.

With contraband strapped to the backs of their dogs, smugglers set off to cross the Spanish-French border. Having been spied upon and betrayed to customs officers, a fierce skirmish results and only the dogs and a single smuggler reach their destination.

The spahi Jean Peyral is very in love with the flirtatious Cora. When he realizes that she betrays him, he tries to kill himself. He is saved by the tenderness of a young native, Fatou.

Madeleine Aubry is the new concierge at the apartment house, and she's a hard-working girl. She can get no work done, because all the men insist on doing it for her. If she is sweeping out the foyer, one comes and sweeps for her; when she turns her attention to polishing the stair rail, another shows up to do the task; and when she takes the opportunity to darn socks, a third does that chore.

A nanny quits her job, and convinces all the other nannies in the apartment building to go out on strike. The strike spreads to the city, with nannies everywhere abandoning their charges, in the park and in the streets. A counter-protest of abandoned babies follows.

Madame Durand goes for a walk and is oblivious to practically everything. She ends up making a nuisance of herself again and again. It's so bad that she eventually even walks into an open sewer and falls down inside. She can't find her way out and wanders until she's overcome with fatigue. When she awakens, she has rats crawling on her! Eventually, despite herself, she is rescued and returns home....and you can only assume she learned absolutely nothing!

The story tells of a matador, the leading figure in the Spanish bull ring, whose lady love proves fickle.

A criminal gang descends into the sewers of Paris and uses an interior exit to get their hands on a safe. They move it out of town, where they work to open it.

Max, a young man about town, splits his trousers while getting ready to go out one night. After applying some rather risky repairs without taking the trousers off, he gingerly heads off to a dinner party. Of course, disaster strikes almost as soon as he arrives, and he spends the rest of the film frantically attempting to hide the gaping tear in his trousers from the other guests.

A young man is sent away to law school in Paris. He enjoys himself until his parents come to visit and end his fun.

While a balloon merchant sleeps on a river bank, a group of children steal his balloons and attach them to the hat of an old lady. Her hat and wig come off and a chase through Paris begins.

The proud owner of a new car gets behind the wheel for the first time and weaves down the street, hitting everything from lamp-posts to market stalls and baby carriages. An ever-increasing crowd of incensed pursuers chases after him.
