In her loneliness, the young masseuse Camille experiences an everyday life, determined by rules and constraints. Not able to accept herself, she retires in isolation. The cautious friendship between Stefan Busch, known to everyone as Buschi, and Mr. Hideo Kitamura begins on this special road trip. Buschi, who has refused to speak with his fellow human beings his entire life, blossoms on this journey to unknown places.

One day, when he meets the attractive cellist Greta, the widowed father begins to doubt whether his future lies in this never-changing daily grind. Elisabeth also has her problems: in order to spare her friend Kemal Yildirim, a greengrocer, from being deported to Turkey, she unceremoniously walks him down the aisle.
