Googoosh

On stage since she was a toddler, Googoosh has been an icon of Iranian pop culture since the 1970s. Her progressive style and raw singing talent attracted worldwide acclaim and saw her performing alongside the likes of Tina Turner and Ray Charles. But the star's career came to an abrupt halt after the Islamic Revolution, which banned women from singing in public. Googoosh was placed under house arrest, where she remained for the next two decades. Niloufar Taghizadeh's documentary, which includes interviews with the charismatic singer (now in her seventies, but still performing and advocating for women and girls) and arresting archival footage, offers both a loving portrait of a national icon and a fascinating historical and cultural record of Iran.

Googoosh: Live Concert-Niavaran Palace -Oct 31,1977

Heshmat runs the factory of his wife who has a heart disease and is unhappy with his wife's decision that after her death his property will be handed over to his sister Fereshteh. In the absence of his wife, Heshmat tries to attack the sanctity of her gaurdian angel, but the angel hits him on the head with a statue and runs away thinking that Heshmat is dead. Fereshteh decides to drown herself in the river, but Amir, who works in the Heshmat factory, saves her.

A rich and fun-loving young man named Farrokh meets a singer girl named Fereshteh and falls in love with her and it is revealed that there is also a twin girl who looks like her.

In a fight with his alcoholic landlord, the 'father' causes his death, but for some reason, his wife takes the blame and goes to prison.
