A group of friends are planning how to spend their summer vacation. One plans to go to the Seychelles with his American girlfriend. At the airport she dumps him for another guy. He has no money so he steals a backpack and goes camping. Somehow he meets a pretty girl and convinces her to share his tent. But a famous singer sees the girl and wants her too. He convinces the luckless guy to act like a fool and the girl leaves him and goes with the singer to the French Rivera.

While filming on location in Tahiti, a small-time actor seizes an opportunity to make it big, but the attention may be more than he bargained for.

This variety show, with its new concept, is presented as a musical comedy. Having formed an orchestra, a group of young people perform in the courtyards of an old Parisian neighborhood, hoping to earn some money. But no one listens to them. All the tenants of the building are glued to their television sets. Only one mysterious man takes an interest in the group and offers them a box of magic matches.

Jacques and Jean-Claude, unemployed actors, start experimenting with various creative petty scams to get by. More and more daring, with the help of Anne, a charming young girl, they blackmail the rich and influential in a different way.
