Two friends, Fabijan and Dakar, each with their own murky past, decide to go on a fishing trip. However, a lazy spring afternoon becomes a fight for survival after they're attacked by group of mysterious strangers.

On the eve of the war, a former army officer Pavle is torn between the reality that forces him to decide and choose a side, and his own life dilemmas. He becomes increasingly preoccupied with morbid thoughts which leads his life to a tragic epilogue.

Vojvodina, 1991. A Croatian civilian POW named Ivan manages to escape a Serbian prison camp. Finding nowhere else to go, he spends the night on a seemingly wealthy plot of land. The next morning, he's discovered by its owner, a Serb named Stevan, who offers him two choices. The seemingly pleasant life of Marija and her son Darko is broken when their village is attacked by the Serbian chetniks, forcing them to evacuate and look for new living and employment opportunites in the nearby city, with the former taking a job in the washroom of the local hospital and the latter, against his mother's wishes, deciding to join the Croatian Army. A few weeks later, Marija recieves the news of her son's passing and decides to head into no man's land to retrieve his remains and bury them in the village they both grew up in.

Ivan, a young Croatian autonomist whose brother left the country due to political persecution, falls in love with Marina, the duaghter of a staunch communist police chief. Their forbidden whirlwind romance takes place against the backdrop of early 1980s Zagreb's everchanging sociopolitical background following the death of Yugoslavia's president Josip Broz Tito.

There they discover an unusual radio station that broadcasts news that is not usually released to the public. As they are collecting information about it, they get drawn into local affairs more than they hoped and wanted.

Settlers from infertile parts of Yugoslavia, arrive to rich Slavonia and Baranja. There they are faced with the decree of the Communist government by which they will be left without the land that they received in the process of collectivization just a year ago. The peasants fiercely resist the government's decision. Milisa Matic is a peasant who fights against the establishment of peasant cooperatives because in that case many peasants would lose their newly acquired land. The Communist government has decreed the founding of cooperatives and Markan Radisic is in charge of their establishment. When Markan's son proposes to Milisa's daughter, the two men confront each other. In self-defense Markan kills Milisa, however the national court fails to find mitigating circumstances. On the way to prison he listens to the news on radio about the abolition of agricultural cooperatives.

It is 1918, the evening of The Great War. Austro-Hungarian empire is collapsing, and all around Croatia there are outlaw deserters, fighting in forests. A city journalist decides to become a country schoolteacher, just to find some peace in that restless political situation. But, neither the village is safe from the militaristic policy of the imperial goverment.

Group of concentration camp prisoners is being constantly tortured by their Kappo. Since they are too weak to stand against him, they pick the strongest among themselves and feed him with parts of their rations.

An absurd combination of circumstances turns two idle young men into fugitives from the law.

Somehow, the movie also manages to be about film reviewers and film directors. Variety commented '...the film's inherently good visual and physical qualities are themselves dissipated in [the director's] cynicism, ennui, and involuted intellectual mirror tricks.'

This film's story is based on a book by the Soviet writer Alexander Grin.

At the end of the year 1942 and the start of 1943, to stop spreading the revolution in county of Bitola, bulgarian occupiers are reinforcing the persecutions and the acts of violence on civil population.

The film follows a young boy named Ranko who discovers a large German Shepherd in the mountains, a remnant of the recent war. After freeing the dog from a trap, Ranko befriends the animal and, based on an inscription on its collar, names him Hund. However, the local villagers mistake the dog for a dangerous wolf, a "lone wolf," and resolve to kill it. Fearing for his new companion's safety, Ranko secretly brings food to Hund in the mountains. In a turn of events, the dog saves Ranko from a real wolf attack. The villagers, convinced that this "lone wolf" is responsible for killing sheep, organize a hunt. In a climactic moment, Ranko manages to save his loyal friend from the hunting party, solidifying their bond.

Europe in second half of 16th century was very rough place to live. Peasants of Slovenia and Croatia had even rougher times because of the constant threat of Turk raids and being taxed to death in order to provide defence against the Turks. But, the worst things were arrogant local feudal lords led by Franjo Tahi who were oppresing the common folk. All that led to the great peasant revolt of 1573. The movie is made for the 400th anniversary of the event.

A story about a couple whose problems start when she takes a job as a teacher in order to financially support his education.

Yugoslavia, 1948, the year of Inform Bureau's resolution and Tito's break-up with Stalin. The story takes place during a wedding in the Dalmatian inland in Croatia. Ante marries a much younger woman, Višnja; the groom's godfather is Andrija, the partisan war hero born in this very village, and a member of the new Communist political establishment. Two members of the Yugoslav State Security crash the traditional wedding ceremony. In the growing atmosphere of fear nobody knows who will be arrested.

The manager of an export-import company meets a young girl who claims that her parents have been taken their house away after WW2. After finding out this to be true, he offers to marry her which she accepts. However, it turns out that the house needs thorough restoration. Since his salary is not enough to cover its massive expenses, he puts his honesty on test.

One class of school children from a small village make the trip to Zagreb. One of the boys gets sick and the class is forced to go home. During their journey the train gets stuck in a snowstorm.

In this intriguing, bittersweet picture of the factory atmosphere from the era of socialist self-management, we follow the story of the factory porter Djuro who, unlike his colleagues, has been unable to get an apartment within “social ownership” for years.

In 1878, during the Austro-Hungarian occupation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the commander of the gendarmerie station in Sokolac was given the task of suppressing the Hajduk movement in that area. The commander asks the arrested and wounded hajduk leader to hand over his comrades.

Eventually in the town arrives a circus troop, whose main star looks identically to Our Lady of the Angel. The attractive lady arouses male fantasies, so local women ask from Mate to make her leave the town by force. The trouble is that Mate himself is not immune to her beauty.

A grandfather and his grandson go to a fair to sell a horse. A ranger and his vicious partner, Matijevic, follow them as they return home in order to rob them. The confrontation takes place in the forest.

Two friends try to tear out their lives from the clutches of idle. An existential study of ordinary lives led by two alienated urban white collar workers, Accidental Life was the only feature film of Ante Peterlić, Croatian film theorist and film critic. The film received mediocre reviews and went largely unnoticed after its release, but has been reevaluated decades later as one of the best Croatian films ever made.
