Rade is in love with Milica, but her father Marko, a village butcher, does not approve. He wants his son to finish school and leave the village. Marko buys a sick cow from Milica's father, puts a false stamp on it, and sells the meat as if it were healthy. Because there aren't enough experts and materials in Yugoslavia, the factory counts on help from fellow communist countries, Czechoslovakia and Soviet Union. However, after the Inform Bureau's resolution this help is no longer available. Sonja experiences a great intimate disappointment because Stjepan, who she is in love with, supports Stalin.

The action takes place over one weekend and shows women who are being treated for infertility at a gynecology clinic, but also face hypocrisy and alienation from society.

Bane and Vesna are young and happy couple. Vesna gets pregnant, but soon she was told that Bane was not faithful to her, which was a lie made by their female acquintance. Vesna's parents decide to sell their little son to a German couple. After finding out what has happened, Bane kidnaps the baby and runs away with it on his motorcycle. With the help of his loyal friends, he seeks hideout from the police.

The doctors predicted Vesna to have one more year. The very sick girl is taken, by her estranged grandfather, up to the mountains, where she learns of a different life.

In Savamala, the most notorious part of Belgrade, lives an eighteen-year-old young man. In this turbulent atmosphere, different passions collide, and there are hints that the bloody strikes are a prelude to a major battle. The young man tries to escape from the slums and live in a better society. He falls in love and draws comics, while Savamala offers him the misery of everyday life, the world of criminals, gamblers, anarchists, singers and failed poets.

The play follows the staff in a cafe's kitchen during the course of a busy morning.
