Mitsuko Kase is a Japanese animator, storyboarder and anime director from Fukushima Prefecture. After having graduated from Tokyo Designer Gakuin, she joined Sunrise, and started off as an animator. She is noted as the first female mecha director, and one of the few female directors in the '80s alongside Makoto Moriwaki and Hiroko Tokita.
