In the year 2012 historian Raimo Lappalainen wants to illustrate how life was 50 years earlier. He becomes obsessed with the fate of a 1970s nude model Saara Turunen, and finds a perfect actress to reconstruct her life and death in front of a TV camera. Meanwhile, a strike at a nuclear plant is covered up by the media.

Lauri and Anna are released from prison. They run into trouble when they cannot find work because of their past. Lauri obtains false identity papers, which enable him to get a job at a factory. A dangerous criminal named Asseri begins blackmailing Lauri, who is using the alias "Pentti Tahvana." Lauri's true identity is revealed in connection with the murder of Kaalep, the factory's night watchman.

The friends, who have become civilians, eventually end up on a plane bound for Suez, being cornered by UN soldiers.

A young man arrives in the village. He becomes a miller and delights the girls in the village, which evokes bitterness in others. He is subject to moralistic criticism, even though he is in fact only in love with the tailor's daughter.

This period drama is set during that early 19th-century war and focuses on one of its heroes, Sven Tuuva. Sven is a decent yet not too brilliant soldier, and his exploits are partly balanced here by the charms of a compatriot.

Wholesaler Paavo Markkanen faces a month in prison for drunk driving. Accustomed to an easy life, he avoids prison by switching places with his doppelgänger, the vagrant Knip, but ends up having to do strenuous physical training in his place. Meanwhile, Markkanen's new housekeeper Kaisa Kankkunen spends her days enjoying herself with her male friends.

Ilona Jonsson deceives the old industrialist Österberg. He takes pity on the poor girl, who looks like the doppelganger of his dead daughter. Also involved in the plot are Ilona's father, who was supposedly at sea but has just been released from prison, his accomplices Murto-Kalle and Ventti-Ville, a rival criminal gang, and the councilor's relatives, who are guarding their inheritance money.

Justiina pushes Pekka and Pätkä to take painting lessons after realizing that art can be a way to earn a living. With the help of the yard children, a painting is created that wins first prize at a contemporary art exhibition. In the meantime, the men, along with their assistant Miss Kaihokielo, have been charged with art theft. After the misunderstanding is cleared up, the Puupääs use the art prize money to convert the house's bomb shelter into a children's clubroom.

Wintery forest and stubborn 16 year old girl dazzle the teacher from Helsinki.

Eemeli leaves the countryside for Helsinki to obtain tax money for the bailiff who is pursuing him. In the capital, he becomes the assistant driver of Andersson, a cab driver. One night while driving, Eemeli meets Vesa and his little sister Jaana, whom Andersson and his granddaughter Katriina take into their family as foster children.

Due to the post-war housing shortage, Pirkko, who has nowhere to sleep, is given accommodation at the full-service guesthouse run by landlady Töttermanska. There she meets the other residents: student Eskoo, foreman Heikki, antique dealer Theodor, and businessman Roope, whose acquaintance with the beautiful Dolly draws the whole group into criminal activities.

The story of the first elections in Finland. Farmer Topi Romppainen lives a modest life with his family in Kainuu in the early 20th century. While shopping in the village, Topi hears about the upcoming parliamentary elections. His wife Riikka decides to find out more and ends up at a meeting of the Social Democrats.

Eager young radio reporter Teräsvuori stages a one-man burglary into the Helsinki Art Museum, recorded on tape for a later broadcast by his friend Laakso. Things go awry when a gang of real criminals overhear their plans and book their heist to coincide. Teräsvuori gets caught but escapes from police custody to start his private investigations together with female radio colleague Eila.
