Eine Kleine Nachtmusik - Romanze Andante
1991
NRA miniature film set to classical music. A cart drives down a gray city street. Behind the houses, instead of the sun, a spinning wheel emerges, from which a broken thread falls into a nearby puddle. A little girl runs down the street. Suddenly, she stumbles and falls into the puddle. Tears from the animated houses fall into the puddle. The drops of tears "revive" the thread, which transforms into a fairy-tale skein and weaves a new dress for the girl. A spinner with a spinning wheel appears and weaves colorful strands around everything. Flowers bloom in the windows of the houses, and the gray walls are covered with vivid colors. The girl, carried by the skein, soars above the houses of what is now a colorful town.
The Spinner
1989
Animation in loose matter - colored salts directly under the camera. Screenplay based on a poem by Julian Tuwim.
A Difficult Calculation
1988
NRA film miniature set to classical music by Camille Saint-Saëns, animated in loose matter with colored salt directly under the camera by Aleksandra Korejwo. From the undefined matter, the figure of a dancing girl emerges, soon transforming into a swan. From the rippling water, the swan takes flight, then seamlessly transforms back into a girl. The girl's dance and the bird's flight intertwine. The girl is enchanted into a swan, the swan enchanted into a girl. Their shapes merge, creating a unity.
The Swan

NRFreedom and Unfreedom unfolds in a single two-and-a-half-minute take. In a moody, dialogue-free piece, a single African-American figure appears in an abstract landscape, dancing among multicolored energy fields. The limbless, spiritless figure dances back and forth, only to be joined by another. Suddenly, dissonant phrases emerge as a hard gray boundary descends between them, and soon more and more walls begin to collapse around the figure until it is completely trapped in a small box, roughly the size and level of the compartments in which slaves were transported from Africa to America. Segment and first part of the film Suite from Freedom (2004).
