Singer, composer, actor and painter, Dorival Caymmi was a multiple artist, but what they may not know is his pioneering work in introducing candomblé into Brazilian popular music. Recreating in a poetic way concepts present in Caymmi's work and life, the documentary revelation of the artist from his own lines, mined in old magazines.

The story of Tuã, a Black oncologist who, as a child, leaves Brazil with his mother after his family endures a series of tragedies during the military dictatorship. Years later, as an adult living in Italy, he is overcome by unfamiliar feelings following his mother’s death. Shaken by this quiet turmoil, Tuã decides to return to Bahia to reunite with his grandparents, revisit his past, and discover new meanings for the present.

The feature film “Anti-Heróis do Udigrudi Baiano” focuses on experimental works produced in the marginal cinema movement in Bahia, including works such as “Meteorango Kid”, “Caveira My Friend”, “Anjo Negro” and “Superoutro”, among others, which explore the trajectory of disruptive characters, on the margins of society, with irreverent movements guiding the narratives and concepts that this generation proposed.
