Inspector Brumpby (Jaroslav Marvan) and the young crime reporter Allan Pinkerton (Vít Olmer) attend wedding of Sir Hannibal Morris (Oldrich Nový) with beautiful Clarence (Kveta Fialová). After the ceremony, Clarence's ex-husband, criminal Manuel Diaz (Waldemar Matuska), who was believed dead, shows up in her room. He wants to get his hands on Clarence and, most importantly, on the money she would inherit in the eventuality of her new husband's death. Diaz makes attempts on Hannibal's life. He knows his way about an underground labyrinth in the château and the traps he sets up for Hannibal seem to work, since Hannibal is apparently found dead after an explosion in the labyrinth, after which his body vanishes. The inspector tries to solve the countless mysteries. In this, he is joined by Allan, always ahead of the man of the law in his estimation and judgment of the situation.

Miss Nováková reports to Major Tuma (Karel Höger) from the police about the disappearance of her roommate, the model Zuzana. Shortly afterwards, a film director named Konrád (Otomar Krejca) asks Tuma to cooperate on a new cinéma-vérité film describing the story of Zuzana's disappearance.

A biographical film about a Czech doctor, Dr. Jánský. The athletically inclined medic Jánský successfully completes his studies. He wants to become a surgeon, but finds himself in Professor Kuffner's psychiatric clinic, where, together with his colleague Kozdera, he tries to uncover the connection between blood clotting and mental illness. They make the surprising discovery that human blood can be divided into four groups and thus prevent it from clotting during transfusions. Austria's victory over Sweden at the 1947 World Ice Hockey Championship in Prague helped Czechoslovakia win the title of world champion. After the match, the cheering of the spectators in the stadium knows no bounds, and so it happens that dentist Jan Vaněček is kissed by an unknown girl out of joy. The kiss is captured by a film camera and is then seen in a film newsreel by Vaněček's fiancée Lída in the cinema. She becomes very angry and does not want to see Vaněček anymore...

The family of Prague burgher and master interior decorator Václav Kondelík lives happily in their house on Ječná Street. The peace is disturbed by an invitation to an "apron party", where their daughter Pepička meets a young municipal official, František Vejvara. The two young people fall in love. Their relationship is also supported by Mrs. Kondelíková, because Vejvara could become a welcome groom for her daughter. However, Pepička's acquaintance disrupts the established order of Kondelík's life.

In "Fidlovacka", the name of a Czechoslovakian festival, the proprietress of a cheese factory picks a fiancé for her orphaned niece in her desire to bring aristocratic blood into the family. THe niece has also picked the man she wants to marry and isn't the the rich aristocrat.

The owner of a clothing store, Mr. Načeradec, spends most of his free time in a café, where he plays chess with the owner of a rival store, Mr. Dundr, over mineral water. Načeradec's daughter Edith, coincidentally, starts practicing law at the same time as her boyfriend, Dundr's son. Mr. Načeradec often fills in for Mr. Findajs at the card company, who is currently dedicating himself to the wife of another player, Mr. Tachecí, the owner of a detective agency. Načeradec keeps his winnings, Findajs has to pay for the money he loses. One day, Mr. Načeradec is so unlucky in the game that he and Mr. Dundr get into a heated argument that ends up in court. Both men are represented by their children, who are rather amused by the situation.

Associate Professor Jakub Johanek was looking forward to his uncle's inheritance and celebrated it with his friends in advance, not knowing what treasures he could actually expect. He had a few too many drinks and woke up the next day with a perfect window. He is tormented by a hangover, and on top of that, the housekeeper comes in with a statement that he robbed her daughter of her wedding ring yesterday - so the associate professor is in for a quick wedding. Although Jakub has been eyeing the girl for a long time, he now has completely different concerns. Our heroine will have to bear difficult working conditions and to make things worse, she falls in love with a fake aristocrat. Fortunately her companion, Vincek who is also in Prague, has an unrequited love for her. Though he is the cause of many Kacenka's problems, Vincek finally will help and resolve her loves troubles.
