If it is true that American movies reflect American society, the United States have yet another severe problem: a lack of open sexuality and eroticism.

4.7Hopkins’ career has spanned several decades, which is why we will also use many interviews that he gave throughout his life, allowing us to put him back into the context of each period and will be helpful in understanding his role in the history of cinema, because he was far from following the trends. He never belonged to any film movement; he is a chameleon that has always preferred natural acting, ‘non-acting’ when method acting was the fashion.

Frances Marion wrote screenplays for the Hollywood Star Mary Pickford and won two Oscars, Dorothy Arzner was the most powerful film director in Hollywood. And what do all of them have in common? They are all women and they have all been forgotten. Incredibly, it also took until 2010 for the first woman, Kathryn Bigelow, to win the Oscar for Best Director. 7.5For over 100 years, Hollywood cinema has crafted the ultimate "villain"- the Indian, as they were labeled in early Westerns. Confined almost exclusively to this genre, the Western became a vehicle for American racism, obscuring the genocide upon which the United States was built. In this documentary, only Native Americans are given a voice to share their story, one that has been overshadowed by Hollywood's portrayal. Their narrative, part of the larger American story, highlights how cinema has long been used as a powerful propaganda tool, distorting history and perpetuating harmful stereotypes.

NRMartin Scorsese is renowned for his masterful use of music in his films. His relationship with music is deep and complex, and he considers it a crucial element of cinematic storytelling. In many of his films, music plays a role almost as important as the characters themselves. It can serve to underscore the characters' emotions, reinforce the film's themes, or evoke a particular era. While Scorsese regularly collaborates with renowned composers to create memorable soundtracks, from Bernard Herrmann and Elmer Bernstein to Robbie Robertson and Howard Shore, what he enjoys most is incorporating existing pieces of music ; "the soundtrack to his life", as he puts it.
