A local politician in Scotland tries to break the reporter who wrote a negative story about him, and who is also in love with his daughter.

Peggy Martin, daughter of a wealthy American businessman, persuades her father to buy a haunted Scottish castle from Donald Glourie. As the castle is dismantled and transported to Florida, its ghost tags along. Donald and Peggy fall in love, but the restless apparition proves to unwelcome, and they must find a way to appease the kilt-wearing spirit.

American racketeer Jimmie Dean travels to England, where he assumes the identity of a Canadian whom he has been falsely accused of murdering. Jimmie is then forced to join the British army in the dead man's place. He falls in love with the Canadian's childhood playmate, Sally Briggs, and becomes a hero after saving an isolated English colony in China.

A hypochondriac misunderstands a telephone conversation, and believes he has only two days to live. It galvanises him into action and he finds all kinds of a new friends who free him from anxiety.

A steelworker rises through the ranks to become manager of three steel mills, but ruthless ambition overwhelms him.
