A forty year-old Parisian, Francoise Romand loses herself in various loves and cities. This film is a jubilant self-mockery, passing through several continents and mixing languages in a cultural, racial and sexual diversity anchored in our times.

A little girl plays the violin in a cemetery. Just afterwards, a fisherman collects in his boat a young woman, exhausted from swimming, who is asking for a violin. We guess it's the same person. Space-time has been shattered. The young lady has lost her memory, but not her purse, which contains a real fortune. A romance begins between the enigmatic belle and her saviour, she in search of her identity, he who has given up his profession as a photographer and France to reconnect with his Tunisian origins. She without a past, he has a clean slate.

Ciné-Romand is a mise en abîmé of previous films of Françoise Romand. Spectators are invited to discover them at a happening that mixes fiction and reality as domestic theater. Voyeurs are not always who we think they are. Guest/spectators, hosts, angel-guides, actors and technicians - all become characters in this fictional documentary where Alice's looking-glass reflects a mischievous fantasy with the roles reversed and complementing one another.
