Capturing the dark humor of Czech author Michal Viewegh's chronicle of life after the Velvet Revolution, this black comedy chronicles three decades in the life of a small Czech family. While the original novel centered on the protagonist Kvido from his conception through his adulthood, first time director Petr Nikolaev and screenwriter Jan Novak changed the focus to his parents Milena, an extremely self-effacing lawyer who acts on stage in her spare time, and Ales, a rather aimless government worker who tends to drift wherever the wind takes him. The lives of Ales and Milena change dramatically following the Russian invasion of Prague in 1968.

Jakub, a young, small time drug dealer, wakes up to find the police storming the apartment building while his parents are both away on holiday. After flushing all of his "secret stashes" in the toilet, he finds out they are actually there to investigate the death of the girl upstairs, a close childhood friend of his and the family. He slowly retraces the past week that she has been lying dead in her flat and remembers that he asked her to "receive a package" unbeknownst to her from his drug dealer, Pexeso.

In 1951, the well-known Czech actress Jiřina Štěpničková receives a letter from Austria from director František Čáp, who has recently emigrated. He invites her to the West and promises her roles in theater and film. She decides to seize the opportunity and flee. Together with a small group of people and her young son Jirka, she entrusts herself to a smuggler and embarks on a risky journey across the border. But something goes wrong. They are caught. A bitter comedy about how difficult it can be to forgive parents for their concern, reproaches, or unfulfilled expectations was filmed in Ostrava by Czech Television director Lenka Wimmerová. We can guess what lies behind it this time too – is it the emptiness in their own lives after their children have left home, or disillusionment with their own failed marriages? The main character, Ivana, lives alone, without a husband and without her daughter, who is abroad. She suffers from insomnia and finds it difficult to detach herself from family injustices and her own life failures.

For ten years, immigrant Tobias has worked at a Swiss clock factory and, in the relentless ticking, he saw life go by without much expectation. One day, he sees Caroline, a former schoolmate from back in Eastern Europe, and falls in love with her, but she's married and has a daughter.

The film consists of five parts - a live-action framing story and four distinct animated episodes - each by a different creative team and in a different animation style, from Pojar and Koutský’s semi-plastic “Princess Who Never Smiled,” through Žabka’s puppet fable “The Fairy and the Bookkeeper,” Dlouhá and Váša’s paper-cut “Fisherman, His Wife, and the Golden Fish,” to Pixa’s near-future parable “Mr. Vincent”.

Director's memoirs of his childhood in a lively tenement house, in particular one hot summer day in 1949 when all tenants gathered to celebrate the wedding of the landlord's daughter. Small details slowly reveal that the narrator's recollection of the events may not be altogether correct.

A successful chemist is forced to return his honeymoon vouchers to Greece. His fiancée has bought a dog for her hyperactive daughter against his wishes. Thanks to a conspiracy between the girl and the dog, the whole family ends up on vacation in the middle of the Šumava "wilderness." At first, the alternative vacation seems idyllic. All the plans of the ambitious father and caring mother gradually fall apart when the daughter and the dog meet someone who understands them. And that person has friends at the guesthouse where the family is staying. Of course, the mother and her fiancé find these people a little crazy. But the girl and the dog are perfectly happy with them. The life full of restrictions and obligations that the girl has led so far is becoming a thing of the past. None of the adults who find themselves in their vicinity can be sure that their lives will not change, whether they want it or not.

A fairy tale about ghosts who have lost their home and are looking for a new one. When they finally find a dilapidated house they like, a young married couple appears as the new owners. After their initial renovations, it becomes clear that the gloomy atmosphere of the house is in jeopardy. And so the ghosts, led by the White Lady, decide to drive the young couple out.

Forest engineer Ivan fell in love with scientist Julie. After their wedding, they bought a guesthouse in the heart of the picturesque Šumava Mountains, where they moved in with Julie's 16-year-old daughter Kačka and her dachshund Hugo. However, Ivan and Julie are primarily focused on having a child and neglect the running of the guesthouse. Julie falls into despair and begins visiting the charlatan Kallvíni, who is supposed to help her get pregnant. It is therefore no surprise that crowds of guests are not flocking to their guesthouse when no one knows about this beautiful place. In addition, the guesthouse is run by two incompetent old women whom Julie hired to help out. Fortunately, her daughter Kačka, who had ADHD as a child and has been listening to her Hugo ever since, comes up with the idea of running a "Guesthouse for dogs... and their owners" with her four-legged friend.

Vincent, a thoughtful and peaceful young man who loves reading and painting, is the complete opposite of his father. As a retired and ambitious knight, his father feels a strong need to constantly look after his son and shower him with important advice. He even accompanies him on his journey into the world. On their journey, they encounter a sorcerer, endanger the fairy kingdom, and must rectify their mistake. And, of course, they must also rescue the beautiful princess. In the end, the knight understands that not everything can be solved with a sword, and Vincent realizes that evil must be fought. The love of the beautiful princess and half the kingdom is then the natural reward.

Andrew is a tough businessman and an arrogant workaholic. He runs a large, successful company in Prague. The meaning of his life is money. Ondřej has just negotiated the deal of a lifetime in Nebraska with a wealthy investor who will finance the construction of luxury residences on the outskirts of Prague.
