Kireto: The Boy Who Left

A couple of former filmmakers travel in an old camper van, along with some old movies, trying to move the past into the present, hoping that memories can bring back old hopes and dreams. They travel around towns and villages, presenting world and native examples in the art of film - The Magnificent Seven, The Birds, Apocalypse Now, New Cinema Paradiso, Love is Madness, The Goat's Horn, Every Mile. The idea is to make the past present with... films.

In order to win the big prize in a popular TV quiz, the main characters of the film - four life-loving women in search of a nontraditional way to overcome the stifling confines of their existence, have to perform a striptease in front of the cameras in their home town. They experience various adventures and their families are subjected to serious challenges. Provincial society is scandalized and their friendships tested. The four women make great sacrifices to reach the stage.

Velko, Filip, Pavel and Gosho have different professions but are connected by the love they have for music. They rehearse all year to make it big on the sea resorts in the summer. The head of the cultural center where they play is willing to give them the musical equipment if they replace their singer Maria (Filip's girlfriend) with the attractive but untalented Reni. This is the first, but not the last compromise they have to make on the way to the dream.

The title of the film is taken from the popular Bulgarian song. This is a film about the life of a common Bulgarian worker. The action focuses on his family, his relatives, and his friends.

In this comedy, a mathematician is so bored and burnt-out with his career that he rebels, first by crawling under a table during an interminable faculty meeting and then by throwing his telephone away, locking his wife out of their apartment, and running off on his own. At this point, the comedy takes a turn when the rebellious mathematician follows a strange wheel and meets a goatherd who shelters him in his humble abode. Events change from a bit odd to totally bizarre as the mathematician continues on his journey of escape.
