A funny, ironic but also serious film about the meaning and state of Slovak coolture. Coolture has become one of the other components of the store. As a result, its quality has been subject to commercial interest much more than before '89, transforming it into a number of more easily digestible genres of questionable quality. Even though there has been a socio-cool relaxation, our coolture is still looking for its identity. It is difficult to orientate this cool teenager. New media and the Internet have become the most widespread form of its dissemination. There has been a dramatic outflow of viewers from traditional cool-hearted events. New cool-life phenomena have emerged in connection with lifestyle change. How does the Slovak coolture look like today (official distributor text)

33-year-old Roman decides to tackle his drug addiction by undergoing group therapy as part of a community holed up on an isolated farm in the Šumava mountains. Twelve people, men and women of varying ages and social status, voluntarily subject themselves to a tough regime under the supervision of three therapists. Many of them have stared death in the face already – overdoses, suicide attempts, and aggression heightened by the use of hard drugs, outwardly affecting even the strongest of them. Each brings something of his past into the group, which he has to experience again, both for himself and for those assembled. Past anguish, wrongs and guilt give rise to new problems: in this thickening atmosphere of suspicion and lies, who can still be trusted? This intimate psychological drama deliberately sets out to break up the tight narrative form through retrospectives in which we learn about the past life of each individual.

This is not a love story though it is full of love. It is not a comedy though the characters often say funny things. It is not a detective story even though the hero is trying to solve a murder. It is not a nature drama though it shows the splendid colours and customs of the countryside. It is not a musical though Lubica expresses her longing in a passionate dance. Nor is it a film about ghosts though a ghost does ask the hero for a favour. A few draughts of Strawberry Wine are enough to take us into a magical world in the true centre of Europe, where love, crime and penitence are just as much a part of life as the changing of the seasons, the migration of birds or the flowing of a mountain stream.
