One of Europe's most beloved folk tale hero, Jester Till is the ultimate prankster embodying the simple wisdom and earthy humor of medieval European peasant folk. In this adventure tale, Till is on his way to the city to visit his grandfather, the slightly absent-minded wizard Marcus. The old man are brewing up a magical happiness potion he feels the townsfolk need. The potion however is tampered with and Marcus vanishes in a horrendous explosion. Till embarks on an adventurous quest to find him.

Between 1924 and 1934, six children grow up in an apartment building in the Munich suburbs. Among them is the rather inconspicuous and melancholy Leo Knie, who has been in love with the pretty Marilli Kosemund since early childhood. Marilli is not averse to the young man's advances, but she wants to be conquered. But that is exactly what shy Leo finds difficult. So he escapes into harmless dancing with his buddies, pursues other girls - rather unsuccessfully - and resigns himself to his predetermined fate.

The young girls from the Schiller Gymnasium do not let their teachers rest. Their humorous-erotic pranks have led to the most violent unrest in the teaching staff.

Elli is a divorced bank cashier who could live in settled circumstances, if it were not for her character.
