Floor Jansen
Born 1981-02-21 · Goirle, North Brabant, Netherlands
Floor Jansen is a Dutch singer, songwriter and vocal performer best known as the lead vocalist of the Finnish symphonic-metal band Nightwish. Born on 21 February 1981 in Goirle, the Netherlands, she developed an interest in music and performing while still young. Her formal training included studies at the Rock Academy in Tilburg, followed by work in musical theatre and opera. She later shared that knowledge as a vocal teacher and coach for aspiring performers. This combination of rock experience and classical technique helped shape the unusually versatile voice that later became her trademark: she can move from delicate, controlled passages to powerful belting, operatic singing and harsh vocal effects
